Remarks on the "Sky Quality"
item:
Two of the auxiliary devices which help MICA to operate alone are what
we call the Sky and the Sun tester . They allow us to record the brightness
of the sky just around the solar disc (aureola) and the brightness of the
disc itself, respectively. The lower the value recorded by the Sky tester
(and the higher the one of the Sun tester), the better the quality of the
sky. With the data from these two instruments, the program which controls
the instrument can decide whether to start the observation routine or stop
it (in case of being observing).
- By clicking in "Sky Quality", a page containing all the graphs
showing the daily values (in mv) reported by the Sky and Sun tester devices
corresponding to the respective month will appear.
- By clicking on the respective day, on the calendar on the left
side, a graph showing the values (in mv) reported by the Sky and Sun
tester devices on that specific day will appear.
In both cases, the red line in the graphs represents the values reported
by the Sun tester, while the dark one corresponds to those of the Sky tester.
Remarks on the "Daily Gifs"
item (Link to Java Movies !!!!):
- By clicking in "Daily Gifs", a directory showing all the days
on the respective month with processed images will appear.
- By clicking then in the respective day inside the directory shown,
all of the the 10-minutes-median gif files on that day will be shown. In
some cases, a directory called '3min' is also shown,. Under that directory,
you will find the 3-minutes-median gif files of that day.
Remarks on Java Movies !!!!:
- By clicking on the respective day,
on the calendar on the right side, a JAVA movie of the 10-minutes-median
gif files is shown.
